Part 36: Fourth Tour

Italy up and down. In the meantime we were here so often that the view for the small pretty trivialities almost got lost. We lived with and belonged to it and yet not. At least I don’t. I felt the constraints that a daughter-in-law could get into, and yet I remained a guest, because that’s what I was, and still tried to help out a little with the grandparents and yet not feel too involved. Milla had suddenly woken up in the last few weeks. In the baby’s face there was suddenly a human being to be discovered, with wishes behind the grasping hands. Preferably it was spoon, cup, napkin. She began to play and understand her environment and enjoyed people. Milla so with Nonno and Nonna and that was my contribution. I also let go at times and the child a part of his family I barely knew and tried to fill my empty hands with a little sleep, mental idleness and exercise. And as long as Milla returned with beaming eyes, I managed quite well. We continued south, two weeks in an old monastery. Gianni was working and I was lying in the shade. Milla between many hands, in the paddling pool and more and more on her own feet, she developed quite great in these days. Then on again. This time Ventotene, followed by Naples, then back to Florence, to Elba, back to Florence, with friends to Liguria, back to Florence and then all the way back, to Berlin. And now it was just as well. Two months later. That was a real summer. Time for autumn.

  • Part 7: And now?

After all, the bang did not come suddenly. The timing did, but everything else was foreseeable. The decision to continue as a single person was already made before being single had occurred. Because everything else was there: father-to-be, friends, job, family, securities. And, of course, the desire. The dear psyche only first had to be…

  • Part 29: First tour

Florence, Rome, Milan. By cab to the airport. We just had too much stuff for the commuter rail. With the stroller to the gate. Put on seat belt and receive life jacket for babies. Milla looked into a book, eventually fell asleep, and after landing, she yawned once hard. That was it and we were…

  • Part 16: OMG

If you held the test strip diagonally against the light, you could guess that a line appeared there – next to the control line. The next day it went without slanting and the following day even in the twilight. First with the ovulation test, then with the 10 pregnancy test and finally also with the…

  • Be sick

Being sick. Coughs, colds and hoarseness are annoying. However, when I find myself in the waiting area of an ambulance station, hanging my own white coat on the hook and holding my head between my hands, and I know that you can fix it, but that it’s significantly worse than a bladder infection, I continue…

  • Part 30: Back

In Berlin now an almost ready to move into apartment, again WG with Gianni for a few days and then came my parents and in a heave action boxes were unpacked and furniture screwed together. It had to happen quickly. In a few days the second tour began. continue to part 31: Second tour

  • The continuation

It was not planned. Further texts should now truly not arise, because I still find it a bit creepy to make a part of my life public. For example, in the past I’ve bumped into strangers at a child’s birthday party who unawares reminded me of a detail of my life – that they knew…
