If you held the test strip diagonally against the light, you could guess that a line appeared there – next to the control line. The next day it went without slanting and the following day even in the twilight. First with the ovulation test, then with the 10 pregnancy test and finally also with the 25 strip. I ran through my apartment, from one room to the other and I actually didn’t know what I was doing there and ran back and forward again and turned the music up loud and wrote a postcard and pinned it to Gianni’s door and waited for him to finally come home and find the humiliated thing and in the evening, sometime just before midnight, the time finally came, on the phone.
